MESHELLE HOST of The 1st Annual Heart of School Awards @ THE HIPPODROME THEATRE

When MESHELLE “The Indie-Mom of Comedy” departed from her full time studies as a graduate student in the College of Education’s School Psychology Department at Temple University over a decade ago, her love for education never waivered.  MESHELLE continued serving children and families by creating gender specific programs and curricula and pinning a book for girls and women.  Her book “101 Things Every Girl/Young Woman of Color Should Know” (Duafe Press, 2010), provides strategies to assist girls and young women with a sweeter ascent to womanhood.

It is fitting after nearly 25 years of educational and behavioral service provision, MESHELLE serves as Host for the 1st Heart of School Award event.

Heart of the School Award

The Fund for Educational Excellence, together with Baltimore City Public Schools as well as business, foundation and community partners, is hosting the first annual Heart of the School Awards to celebrate Baltimore City Public Schools’ Principals. This special night will recognize exceptional leaders who have demonstrated exemplary innovation, execution, and leadership, building strong school cultures.

We recognize that each school is unique with distinct challenges and opportunities. Accordingly, we will consider all grade levels, school types (elementary, middle, high; traditional and charter; alternative and specialized), and student populations.

The Heart of the School Principals will be honored at the Hippodrome Theatre on May 23, 2016.

12 N Eutaw St, Baltimore, MD 21201

Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. and the event will run until 9:00 p.m
