24 Oct BLACK GIRLS ROCK…A Dream Come True

Less than 24 hours ago, I got word that I would have the distinct pleasure and honor of acting as the “Warm-Up” Comedienne for BET’s “Black Girls Rock 2013” Production filming this Saturday, October 26, 2013 and Airing November 1, 2013 on BET!  Sometimes when things are seemingly “out of sorts” GOD has SORTED them for HIS Glory! I was scheduled to be in Chicago for my other MOTHER’s (n-Law) 70th Earthday and flying to Los Angeles from there this Sunday! Low and behold, I was rerouted (begrudgingly) feeling awful about my kids and I not being there, due to what I saw as unfortunate circumstances.  What a Metaphor, I was MAD and HE was MADLY orchestrating things! Presently, my daughters, BESTIE and I are giddy, planning to see my stylist today (Toni James: Owner of Katwalk Boutique) for ME: and find the perfect dresses for them!  I believe in the mission and work of Beverly Bond and Black Girls Rock and feel real blessed to offer my gift to keep the production fluid!  While “warm-up” is an off camera GIG… this is EPIC!  It’s never the position or lack there of, its about doing the very BEST I can in this space! Thank you, Connie Orlando and the entire BET TEAM! I am a huge believer that when you are faithful over a few things, GOD WILL make you RULER over MANY!! The women being honored read like a Who’s Who of Major Proportions, Queen Latifah, Misty Copeland, Venus Williams, Pattie LaBelle, Marian Wright Edelman,  Mara Brock Akil and so many more!  Its so humbling to be in the midst of so many who pour into OUR GIRLS virtually or directly!  So that’s what makes this colossal, as an Open Society Alumni Fellow, this is at the core of who I am!  In 48 hours its going down and hosted by the amazing Regina King, and Tracee Ellis Ross.  Until then, I have to tend to my Sunbeams and prepare for tonight’s session with Goaldiggers The Sankofa Project and the Whole Woman’s Symposium Panel! WOW!  Trusting the Process!!
