DESCRIPTION:Unity ’22 GOTV (Get Out the Vote) Comedy Tour and Organizing Weekends in Cleveland\, Ohio\, marking the start of a 30-day push of GOTV weekend organizing activations in nine markets in key battleground states; Cleveland\, Toledo and Columbus OH; Detroit and Kalamazoo\, MI; Pittsburgh and Philadelphia\, PA; Orlando\, FL; and Atlanta\, GA. \n  \nEvery tour stop will engage NCBCP/Black Women’s Roundtable (BWR) affiliates and state convener networks and Unity ’22 partners to maximize voter contact in Black communities in Ohio\, Michigan\, Florida\, Georgia\, Ohio and Pennsylvania.  The tours will include the BWR “Power of the Ballot Evening of Comedy Night” and a number of weekend activations that entail phone banking\, door-to-door & neighborhood canvassing\, text banking\, souls to the polls activity\, “protect our vote Sundays\,” literature distribution and more. \n  \nThe BWR “Power of the Ballot Evening of Comedy Nights” will include opening acts by Black women comedians\, special guests and speaking programs with inspirational thought leaders who will share stories and testimonials related to the “Power of Our Voices and Votes.” \n  \nThe Unity ’22 Campaign is a national and multi-state organizing\, non-partisan\, integrated voter engagement campaign focused on a number of issues\, including increasing Black voter turnout and providing voter protection tools for Black voters to ensure their votes are counted in the 2022 Mid-Term Election  \n
